It has its function in nature, it interacts with the rest of the plant and animal species. Disqualifying these plants refers us to our own inability to understand these interactions.

The axolotl is a Mexican amphibian that remains a larva throughout its life. He can regenerate parts of his body, even vital organs. Xolotl. god of fire, took the form of an axolotl and took refuge under water to hide and avoid being sacrificed. His brother (Quetzalcóatl) found him and told him: “since you refused to die, you will remain here all your life, but the day your element, water, no longer serves, you will disappear, along with the human race.”

“We are all confined within the prison walls of our daily vocabulary. Through the skill of choosing our words, we can expand commonly used meanings to cover slightly new sensations, but when a state of mind is completely different, words fail. How can you explain to a man who is born blind what it means to see? It was also impossible for the Mazatecs to describe the experience. They called mushrooms “the little ones that sprout” because “the little mushrooms sprout from themselves, like the wind that blows without us knowing from where or why.”
The River, Wade Davis.
